Ancestral Waves

Ancestral Waves is a cross-generational celebration of waves made collaboratively by the artist and her great great grandmother. It contains no data; just an appreciation and depiction of various kinds of waves. The center white edging piece was made more than 100 years ago in filet-crochet style popular in the early 20th century. It is embellished with elements of freeform crochet, a style that emerged in the 1960’s and 70’s and has seen recent revival.
