The Milfoil Threat
Eurasian watermilfoil is one of the most common aquatic invasive plants in New York and can create dense mats on the surface of North Country waters, crowding out native species like the white water lily. It is one of the species most often encountered by our launch stewards in our efforts to prevent the spread of aquatic invasives in the park. These lily pads were printed directly from nature by pounding to release the pigment into the fabric; milfoil was added with embroidery.
