Austin Larabie

Decontamination Program Manager

A Saranac Lake native, Austin graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a B.S. in geology in 2020 and served with AmeriCorps and the Utah Conservation Corps in 2021. Austin started with AWI in 2022 as a steward at Port Douglas and Willsboro boat launches on Lake Champlain. The following year he was hired as the assistant manager for the Decontamination program and eventually joined AWI in a full-time capacity as Decontamination Program Manager in 2024. Austin enjoys the opportunity to be a key element in the conservation efforts of the stewardship program and helping to keep his home waters free of aquatic invasive species. Austin’s goal is to keep Adirondack waters clean so he can continue to enjoy the great boating and fishing opportunities that the park has to offer!
