Adirondack Lakes Alliance Symposium

Adirondack Lakes Alliance presents the 7th annual Adirondack Lakes Alliance Symposium, taking place on August 5th, 2022 on the campus of Paul Smith’s College. This year’s theme is “Coming Together for the Good of our Lakes”.

Adirondack Lakes Alliance provides a forum for lake and river associations to share information and resources and to make recommendations to appropriate state, county and local agencies, and educational and other relevant non-profit organizations, regarding environmental and ecological issues threatening Adirondack lakes and rivers.

The first speaker this year will be Chris Mikolajczyk, the current President of the North American Lake Management Society as well as Senior Aquatic Ecologist at PrincetonHydro.

The second presenter, Dr. Dan Kelting, is the current Executive Director for the ​Paul Smith's College Adirondack Watershed Institute at Paul Smith's College, and in 2021 was appointed ​by Governor Kathy Hochul to the ​Adirondack Road Salt Reduction Task Force.

Other speakers include Cathy McGlynn, Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation; Joe Thouin, Environmental Analyst for the Lake George Park Commission; Brian Greene, ​Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator for Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program; local state elected officials, including Assemblyman Billy Jones; and more to be confirmed.
