Join the Ausable Freshwater Center for a Purple Loosestrife pull at Ausable Marsh.
Purple loosestrife is a common invasive plant that harms the health and biodiversity of stream sides in the Adirondacks and other parts of New York. Each year, the Ausable Freshwater Center hosts a purple loosestrife pull to mitigate this threat. Our vital volunteers assist in eliminating portions of the infestation while learning about the plant's identification and management.
Join us for this event during Adirondack Water Week in August. It is a great way to experience the beauty of the Adirondacks while restoring healthy ecosystems and meeting other environmentally-minded members of our community. We'll have shovels and gloves, but feel free to bring your own. Water and snacks will be provided.
