ACORN Listening Session at Paul Smith's College
Paul Smith's College, a proud founding collaborator of the ACORN network, will host a community climate resilience listening session. In addition to gathering valuable information about climate-related needs and solutions from community members, there will be a presentation on the latest findings on warming trends and seasonal changes in the North Country.

ACORN at ANCA's "Clean Energy + Small Communities. Big Opportunities"
Through a variety of networking and learning opportunities, conference participants will explore ways we can work together to foster strong, resilient and inclusive North Country communities. ACORN will be presenting on May 1.

Great Lakes Action Agenda (GLAA) Sub‐Basin Work Group Meeting
The purpose of this meeting will be to review DEC Great Lakes Program and Work Group member progress updates, present on progress of the Baseline Conditions Characterization and discuss how the information can be used in work planning, and discuss upcoming funding and work group collaboration opportunities. ACORN will co-present with the Tug Hill Commission to discuss our recent Ecosystem System Based management projects.

ACORN at the Adirondack Planning Forum
The Adirondack Planning Forum (formerly known as Local Government Day) is an annual conference hosted by the Adirondack Park Agency that provides training for Planning and Zoning Board members and informational presentations about current Adirondack issues, ideas, and funding opportunities. ACORN will be speaking on a climate resilience panel at 3pm on May 8.

ACORN at Adirondack Research Consortium Annual Conference: "Resilience in Action: Addressing Climate Challenges in the North Country"
ACORN will participate on a Climate Impacts Panel at 11am on May 15, and hold an ACORN community climate networking workshop at 1:30pm on May 16.

Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District Water Quality Coordinating Committee Annual Meeting
ACORN and the Adirondack Watershed Institute will present recent water quality findings related to warming temperatures, and hold an interactive workshop with lake associations and community members to identify shared concerns and partnership possibilities. ACORN at the 2025 Sustainability Day and Green Living Fair
Sunita Halasz will deliver the Keynote at the 2025 Sustainability Day & Green Living Fair at 3:30pm, sharing the results of 2024-25 ACORN listening sessions.

ACORN at the Adirondack Park Agency Monthly Meeting
Meeting begins at 9:30am with the Executive Director's monthly report, public comment, and other procedural actions. At 10 a.m., the Public Awareness and Communications Committee will hear a presentation from ACORN about the findings of their community listening sessions, online survey, and focus groups.

Adirondack Climate Conference
The Adirondack Climate Conference on March 6, 2025 at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake will bring together residents, government officials, emergency responders, professionals in academia, non-profit organizations, business owners, the media, and other members of the ACORN network.

Mohawk Valley Communities ACORN Listening Session, MVCC-Utica
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN)will hold a community listening session at Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica Campus. Participants will engage in a visioning session to identify local needs, partnerships, and solutions for climate resilience.

ACORN at the Food Justice Summit
ACORN will host a listening session at Adirondack Food System Network's 2025 Food Justice Summit on February 27, 2025. This participatory workshop will identify challenges and opportunities in North Country food systems that may be complicated by climate change. Participants will engage in a visioning and solutions implementation exercise. The results of the discussion will be included in the North Country Rural Resilience Roadmap report to ensure that our food systems remain key to supporting the health, ecology, economy, and way of life of our region.

Upper Hudson Communities ACORN Listening Session at Chester Town Hall
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a listening session at Chester Town Hall to gather information about climate impacts in Upper Hudson communities. Participants will engage in a visioning session to identify solutions and shovel-ready projects with the goal of bringing federal, state, and private funding to the North Country.

Virtual Listening Session on Community Housing Resilience with Northern Forest Center
The Northern Forest Center and ACORN are teaming up to offer a virtual listening session as part of the Northern Forest Center's Housing Affinity Group series. We will brainstorm and identify needs and solutions for building local community resilience related to housing challenges in Northern New York, particularly in response to warmer, wetter, and more severe weather. As with all ACORN listening sessions, the topics that get discussed will be up to the participants, but we may hear about things like upgrades to aging housing stock, storm-proofing, electrical supply and other municipal services, land use (clustered development, known flood zones).

Tug Hill Region Community Climate Resilience Listening Session
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a community listening session for the Tug Hill region. Participants will engage in a discussion to identify solutions and shovel-ready projects with the goal of bringing federal, state, and private funding to the North Country.

Canton-Potsdam ACORN Listening Session at Cheel Center Barben Rooms, Clarkson University
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a listening session at the Cheel Center to brainstorm and identify key needs and solutions for stormwater resilience in the Raquette and Grass River Watersheds where they pass through Canton and Potsdam with the goal of bringing federal, state, and private funding to our area.

Champlain Valley Communities ACORN Listening Session at Whallonsburg Grange
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a listening session at the Whallonsburg Grange to gather information about climate impacts in Lake Champlain communities. Participants will engage in a visioning session to identify solutions and shovel-ready projects with the goal of bringing federal, state, and private funding to the North Country.

Central Adirondack ACORN Listening Session at Adirondack Ecological Center
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a listening session at the Adirondack Ecological Center to gather information about climate impacts in Central Adirondack communities including Raquette Lake, Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Newcomb, and Minerva. Participants will engage in a visioning session to identify solutions and shovel-ready projects with the goal of bringing federal, state, and private funding to the North Country.

ACORN Listening Session at 2024 Fall Forestry Roundtable
The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) will hold a listening session with 2024 Fall Forestry Roundtable participants to gather information about climate impacts to forests, forest management, and the forest products industry, and lead a visioning session to identify solutions and shovel-ready projects that will keep forestry vibrant and key to meeting NYS's climate goals.
